Dove Guard for Sky Cafe Bird Feeder | Stop Doves

The Sky Cafe Dove Guard is the perfect solution for unwanted doves and other large birds! This is a favorite Sky Cafe Bird Feeder accessory in Texas for deterring those pesky white winged doves. It also stops other large birds and hinders grackles from sweeping away seed.

Please keep in mind that Cardinals can be skittish, and it may take them a little longer to adjust to the Dove Guard. Continue feeding the birds and they'll eventually warm up to the new accessory.
Dove Guard Instructions:
1. Place the wire mesh guard onto the tray with the flared end up.
2. Loop the 6 black plastic ties through each slot on the outer edge of the Sky Cafe tray and around the bottom wire of the guard.
3. Connect the plastic tie to itself, pull tight, then cut off the end fairly close to the knot for a finished look.

Very effective, allows cardinals and even large woodpeckers to feed

The Dove Guard is very effective. The mourning doves can't fit. But I have seen our cardinals feed OK. We even have large "red-bellied" woodpeckers feed by hanging on the side, nearly upside-down and getting their favorite peanuts. I have not seen any bluejays try this but I think they can also perform this maneuver.
The "consumption" of birdseed has certainly been reduced -- much less waste. -

The Grackles and Starlings can still uncomfortably feed by hanging awkwardly off the side of the feeder and reaching back with their long beaks to snag a few seeds...nothing like when they were making a huge mess when they had total access. A big improvement, they are frustrated, I am happy. No problem for my Cardinals and various finches and sparrows. Easy to install, my protected Sky Cafe is the best feeder around.

This really does keep the doves out but I have a family of Cardinals and it is also keeping them away even though I was told prior to purchasing that it will not distract cardinals. Maybe I have to wait a little longer. BUT it definitely works!

The dove guard is great! The day we added it to the Sky Cafe we saw grackles fly toward the feeder, flap around and fly away. The regulars never blinked about the difference. They flew right in and landed. I really didn't think it would work, but it does. Thanks for a great product!!

Works just as advertised. I felt sorry for the doves, so I spread some seed on the ground for them. The little birds are very happy.
